Sometimes I see stylish chic women walking on the street and they would carry an item – a bag many times but sometimes a hat or a type of glove–that I would have seen hundreds of times before but somehow that person carrying makes the thing like super cool and makes you whip out your phone to search for that item to purchase. I’ve personally done this more than 50 times before, but it’s now finally gradually hitting me that it’s not the item but the person and the “lovingly used”-ness of the item. Maybe everyone knew this effect but for me, it was a gradual revelation. It really comes down to what mum and other adults always says–use things for a long time. Simple as that. My mom uses her non-high brand make-out pouch that she purchased 30 + years ago, periodically washing it with attentive care. My husband also wears the same t-shirt, holes and tears and all for 10 + years. I crave instant gratification, instant stylishness and these people just seemed too enlightened for me, but now I kind of get it.
Do you ever notice the same?
